Apa lagi yang aku fikirkan?
Ya Allah! Aku serahkan anakku ke jalanMu.
Jalan yang mampu memacunya ke syurga idaman.
Aku serahkan segalanya kepadaMu ya Allah.

'Bukan dunia matlamatku. Tetapi akhirat destinasiku.'
Betapa mudah lidah berkalam.

Kuatkan tekad, bulatkan niat.
Ya Allah ku serahkan anakku ke jalanMu.
Kerana aku yakin,
JalanMu itu membawa kebahagiaan dunia dan akhirat.

Semoga kau berkati laluan hidup anakku Ya Allah.

Asaalamualaikum dear readers,

Heard on TV yesterday morning about syafaat. Surah al-Baqarah: verse255 mentioned this:

Double Blow

I have just finished my classes for today. It was a double BLOW today. I felt that my blood shoot up. One blow for each class.

The first class was at 10.30am. I entered the class, everybody was busy talking. I plug-in my pendrive, open the powerpoint slides for today's presentation, and they were still talking. I sat quietly at the desk, looked around, and they were still talking until finally one student realized my change of behavior, and signaled her friends to keep quiet. Then only I was be able to start the class. But ... it was interrupted by two people in the last row. Their voices was suddenly increased perhaps the conversation was too exciting. The whole class prompt them to keep quiet. I continued my lecture. When I finally concluded my lecture, the same two at the last row, suddenly looked very puzzled. They quickly tidied up their things, rolled their notebook cables and packed to leave. Argh!!!! They were doing something else in class during lecture. Never had I experience this in my years of teaching. Where are their respects to teachers?? Where are their respects to knowledge??? They are there just to ensure that their attendance are filled. I pitied them for having such behavior, but it frustrates me.

The second class was at 4pm. I cautioned the students that those with less than 80% attendance will be barred from sitting the final exam as stated in the 'Peraturan Akademik" book that all students owned. Before leaving the class, I picked up the attendance sheet and started to skim through the names. That was when I realized that the attendance column for a student who was not in class was signed by someone. I recognized the boy. I know he was not in class this afternoon, but how come his name is signed? Who have done this? I asked the class, but nobody dares to admit. I pitied the student who signed on behalf of his absent friend. He is not being honest when HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY.

I pitied the students but at the same time worried about the generation that we have now. They are the leaders of tomorrow. May Allah guide them to the righteous path. And may Allah protects us from these bad behavior.

O my generation! What got into you? However, I truly aware, these are only the few among all the good ones. There are many more good students around whom will not forget to greet us politely. Whom will take our hands to ask for blessing after each class. I pray to Allah, for these students to have a successful future ahead. Ameen.

Munafik? Ganas bunyi tajuk hari ni. Tetapi, kehidupan realiti memerlukan kita mengenali pelbagai wajah manusia. Twice so far I found the statement. The first prohibition was in al-Imran (118) and found again in an-Nisaa (89). When mentioned more than once, it shows the importance of the statement.

Siapakah orang-orang munafiq?

Dari website JAKIM

Tajuk :
Ciri-ciri Orang Munafik
Hadith :

Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w yang maksudnya:
(Menegakkan benang basah ) “.

Riwayat Ahmad

There are four characteristics of people that can be considered as munafiq:
1. when you trust them, they betray
2. when they talk, they lie
3. when promise, they break it
4. when argue, they disregard truth

This is based on hadith (sahih) narrated by Ahmad. These are the four types of people we must avoid from. Avoid making them as your friend, what more as your good friend. They will be someone who will seem nice in front of you but betray you when you are not around. Why do you need to avoid them? First, it is as Allah has ordered us to do in the alQuran. Secondly, these people are there to destroy you. Destroy your iman.  Therefore, look around you. look at people around you. Identify them. Keep a distance from them. If possible, bring them back to the righteous path.

However, not only you must avoid having them as your friend, most importantly, protect yourself from being one. Assess yourself. Do you have any of the four characteristics? Nau'uzubillahi min zalik. But if you do, it is never too late to repent. As Allah is the Most Forgiving.

I seek forgiveness only from You, Allah. Forgive me ya Allah if I do have any of the characteristics. Protect me from the fiery hell and placed me in your wonderful jannah that you have promised for the mukminin.

The Sore Throat

Assalamualaikum all,

Alhamdulillah. I am back on my feet again today. Running for errands and house chores as usual and cracking my head with an article at the office. At times, I still felt dizzy but I will quickly take a short rest and to move slowly to encounter the problem. All are because I was on fever for the last two days. It was a bad one. The whole body was aching.

The sore throat that I mentioned in my earlier post was not due to too much talking, however it is due to a sign of tonsilitis. What is tonsilitis? It is defined as:

"Tonsillitis is an infection and swelling of the tonsils, which are oval-shaped masses of lymph gland tissue located on both sides of the back of the throat."

What is the tonsil for? From the same website it described:

"The tonsils normally help to prevent infections. They act like filters to trap bacteria and viruses entering the body through the mouth and sinuses. The tonsils also stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies to help fight off infections. Anyone of any age can have tonsillitis; however, it is most common in children between the ages of five and 10 years."

But in my case, as old as I am, I am so prone to tonsilitis. The image seen here is a google searched image. This was how my tonsil looked like when I first understand about tonsil back in 1985. I was at the hostel then, slight fever will mean nothing as we are not too keen to go to the hospital which will result in waiting for a long time, queuing at the hospital, waiting for the van to fetch us again and add to the misery and pain we are already enduring. Therefore, I simply opted for a self treatment with bought-over-the counter PCM. When the sore throat got worse, and the fever recurred, I self checked in the mirror and saw a terrifying situation and became scared of it. That is when help is wanted. After a proper treatment with antibiotic, Alhamdulillah the fever was gone.

Allah has not created something for no purpose. The tonsil is the first level of protection that the body has. What if we do not have tonsil? The first defense is out. And we need to be very cautious as when we were infected, it could be severe. That was what the doctor said when Atikah need to remove her tonsil when she was 11. Why remove the tonsil? We had to allow the doctors to remove the tonsil because she was having fever for almost every week and skipping school for every fever. Alhamdulillah she did not catch fever very often now, but we had to make sure that she took enough vitamins to protect her body.

Allah Knows Best.

A Visit

Assalamualaikum dear readers,

Clock time is 12.50pm. It's lunch break. The throat sores. Not because of any infection but due to too much talking. Alhamdulillah, one task completed on this first day of the week. Entertaining guest from Unisza, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Trengganu. There were 8 of them from the Department of Multimedia, Faculty of Informatics, UniSZA. They were here to see the facilities that we have in our faculty.

Alhamdulillah, it was a fruitful event. We share ideas and opinions. Thanks to En Yunus and PM Azizah Murad for being there too. PM Azizah as the head of Corporate Unit for the faculty and En Yunus on the technical specification of the Lab. May this short encounter will lead too many more friendship and collaboration. Talking to them made me realized how old I am as they were all very young an energetic (except for the tour leader, En Mohd Attar, I think he is about my age). During the meeting, the Dean pointed out a new and interesting form of relationship, the COLLABORATORIES. It is interesting and a good idea. I really hope that this will lead to a new endeavour for students and lecturers. Especially after 2015 when we will have less students doing Final Year Projects. Having students from other university doing their project here is indeed very interesting. Also, I think it is about time we take a closer look at the way our FYP is being conducted,

Assalamualaikum all,

There is a truth in this. When you talk less, you make less mistake. However, there are times when you make a mistake just because you keep quiet. Macam mana tu? Konpius tak? Anyway, this got nothing to do with my title up there.

Source: Google searched
Shuhrah is a term I found while reading Solusi (48). I know it sounded out dated, it was on the shelf a month ago, but I only got the opportunity to read it recently. Shuhrah is not a scientific term. Arabic term perhaps. Even though explanation was given in the magazine, its my habit to make a google search. I found this:

From Code of Ethics fro Muslim Men and Women:

Libas ash-Shuhrah: notorious clothing. That clothing which has certain qualities or characteristics that attract the attention of the general public causing one to stand out in a crowd.

That it [the Jilbaab] should not be clothing worn for Shuhrah (seeking to stand out)[1]

Due to the Hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar radiyallaahu‘anhu who said that the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu‘alaihiwasallam said:
“Whoever wears clothing seeking to stand out and be famous in the life of this world, Allaah will dress him with clothing of humiliation on the Day of Resurrection, then it will be set ablaze.”[2]

[Taken from Jilbaab ul-Mar’at-il-Muslimah p121-123 and p 213]

In the article written by Ustaz Dr Zaharuddin Abdul Rahman, he cautioned us to be careful when purchasing a new clothe (sebab edisi kali ni berkenaan raya) (ms 41). He reminded us to be careful and not to purchase a clothe that stands out from the rest of the people which will attract many eyes to it. He quoted the same hadith as above:

Amin Ya Rabb.
