"Aku tidak

KPI

Assalamualaikum all, K.P.I. ~ Key Performance Index. It's the index they use to measure your performance for a year. Every beginning of a year, the KPI will be set by the superior. For example, we must at least publish two papers for a year. Two papers is the performance index. If we managed to fulfill this basic requirement, we considered achieved the basic requirement. If we published more than that, we can be deemed excellent as a lecturer (one of the criteria). And.. the word KPI is heard being mention over and over again. And we strive hard to fulfill the KPI. Some even work extra hours to achieve the KPI. Some even come to work on weekends just to fulfill the KPI. This is how tough the working life is. And most of the time the KPI is being reviewed after each year. If achieved successfully, most likely the standard will be increased which more pressure for the workers to fulfill. There was a post on the FB page of one of my senior and FB friend. It's a conversation t

Hakim dan sukan

Assalamualaykum... You see the young man in purple shirt in the front? Yes. That's him. That's my boy. He is all grown up now. What more important is, he is turning into a new leaf. He is changing to a better person. From an introvert to an extrovert. He used to be behind the shadow of the sisters. But now he is out there, participating in all event. Alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah. That's what we want from him. To be confident with himself. To come forward. To get out of his shell. Alhamdulillah he manages to that. Thank you Allah. Alhamdulillah. Hakim getting ready for an event. Yes, being 13, he is wiser. Alhamdulillah he is more confident now. He just needs the correct exposure, trust and encouragement. This is the learning process to become a versatile leader. Professional. I prayed that he would one day become someone who will be able to deliver the words of Allah to the entire globe. Does ibu had too high hopes? No. Every mother would. Not the money that

Rekreasi Malam di Shah Alam

Assalamualaikum, One Saturday night, we were out driving for some coffee. Coffee during the night?  Yes, we are crazy for coffee. And my husband is always willing to fulfill my coffee craving because he is fond of coffee too. During our drive, we went to the area near the Masjid Shah Alam, the place where Shah Alam folks called Padang Kemerdekaan, as it is where the Merdeka Parade for Selangor takes place. There were lots and lots of cars there. We were wondering, what was going on there???? Only, to find that the throngs of people are actually enjoying their family time together on the green field. There were children running around happily, playing bubbles, balls and lanterns. Mothers sitting on the mat with some prepared food. There are siblings playing badminton on the field too,  Cars parked along the road with their bonnet opened, we presumed its some sort like a car boot sale. Mini stalls were set up selling drinks and snacks. The view was so intriguing. A snapshot o

Okra...ku

Alhamdulillah. Gardening ... is really my thing. Besides okra, I do have other ulam-ulaman within my tiny yard. I do have the kaduk, sirih cina, belalai gajah, beluntas, cekur --- all these can become an instant replacement for vegetables. And if you are looking for hot and spicy -- the 'cili api' is also within my range. And my okra, is due for a replant, new seeds have been laid. Soon I need to transfer it to a bigger pot. Enjoy gardening!!!

Who's winning the game

Assalamualaykum, Yes, I know it has been a long absence. I have been soooo busy, exhausted with the amount of work that my physical body is almost collapse. Alhamdulillah, today, I got the chance of listeing to Mufti Ismail Menk on the Youtube while writing an article for a conference. (Phew!!! ... Now only that I have the time to look at articles). I like this analogy that he made about the football game which many like to watch: (This is my interpretation of what he says, not his exact words): If you are watching a football game of the team that you like. What if your team wins? You feel that you too have won. Do you? What do you get in return for the wins. The winnings will not even take you closer to jannah. But, if you are able to overcome shaytan, then, that is the real win. And there is a BIG reward awaits you in jannah. So, which game do you prefer to play and win?? This statement does not try to say that you cannot watch the football. But the effort that you take t
