Marriage

One day, a mother and daughter were cleaning the dishes after their meal. Earlier, they were preparing the meals together. Then suddenly the daughter asked .... Daughter : Why must this be the women's task? (referring to the task they did earlier, preparing the meals and cleaning). Mother : Nope. This is not solely the women's task. The men can do this too.But as a wife, we want to do the best for the husband, therefore, we took up this task. Daughter : Why must one married? Isn't being single is more relaxing and free.  At this point, the mother must think fast. The answer must be meaningful and justifying because the children of the current millennial are different. They want facts and realism. Bothers no more to what others say. So, this is what the mother said. Mother : The benefit of marriage can be seen from two perspectives. Duniawi and uhkrowi (worldly and the hereafter). Duniawi (Worldly) benefits: you have a life companion - Someone that you can

Team work makes it happen

Assalamualaikum I came home late yesterday as I was invigilating the exam that ends at 5.45pm. Soon came in Atikah, my eldest from work, followed closely by ayah, my hubs. It seems like everybody came home together. The day before, we have planned to have the grilled salmon for dinner. Sometimes, planning were not materialized due to many factors, mostly fatigue. But today, we are going to make it happen. We strategize the work flow. And mutually agreed with the planning. I will prepare the soup while Atikah prepares the main dish, grilling the salmon and grill the potatoes. We work harmoniously in the kitchen. Bumping into each other once in a while. And guess what, Alhamdulillah by 7.15pm, the food is already on the table. The salmon tasted good. The soup was perfect. The potato salad was delicious too. Alhamdulillah. And this is our plate ...... Lesson from this would be: 1. Determination is the key to success. As we are very determined today, Alhamdulillah, we succe

The eyes behind the glass

Assalamualaikum I often use this phrase 'I feel old' .... well, this is not true at all. I not only feeling old, I am practically old. Only an old lady would have dropped her pair of glasses from the top of her head unnoticed, and later rolled over it with her tyres. And that is me .... welcoming the new year, 2020. I was in quite a rush yesterday evening, the gate wont open that I need to step out of the car, I walked closely to gate and summon the gate to open using my reduced-functioning key. When going out of the cold, air-conditioned car, the glass got misty, and I normally put it up on the head. And I am not sure when it happen, how it happen, but it must have dropped the glass to the ground in the process. And this Makcik Tua, unnoticingly, just get into the car and drive into the porch. I get out of the car and hurriedly into the house. After a while, then I realised that I need my assistant, the pair of glass. I searched all over, but could not find it. I even went

Back to School

Assalamualaikum, The heap was all about 'Back to School'. Little ones are all very excited. New clothes and shoes. New friends and new life. Eager to be called school children or pupils. Parents are eager too. Catching their children on their lenses for future referencing. Mothers making sure their kids have enough food to eat and drinks. What a lovely seeings. Obviously I am old. I no longer have children who need to be rushed to school. No more making sure their school uniforms are ready. Ayah who are the one doing the ironing before they are old enough to handle this on their own. Tasks are equally divided. Ibu as usual tirelessly prepares the pack food (or now called bento) for the children. Whether they eat it or not, that is not the issue, the main focus is the kids will have food to eat. Home-cooked would be the best. Waking them up in the morning is another pain in the neck. I only have three, but each gives a different challenges. I smiled remembering when one wo
