It’s not always a clear sky ....

Assalamualaykum There are days where the sky is bright, the feelings were great. But there are days where the sky is cloudy and the feelings are gloomy. I seldom read messages from the former school mate. Not that I don’t like to read them, but there are too many messages to read and take action upon. Work is now all through the messages. Groups are mushrooming with more task to be completed. This is the new working norm that is here to stay. Something that was once very alien are now become very accustomed to. For example, online classes, online meetings etc. This afternoon, I make through into the group when I see a sudden increased in postings. A husband to our friend, is currently very sick. I made an effort to call the friend to ask of her being and her husband’s condition. Once a healthy man, is now down with multiple sickness. May Allah grant him recovery and patience to my dear friend in facing this crisis. In Allah we put our trust.  To Noryani, Allah knows what is best and i

Assalamualaykum WRITING??  What is writing?  A source from Wikipedia says that “writing is a medium of human communication with the use of symbols in certain languages”. Literally, the word is write defined by Oxford dictionary as “marks on surface”. Now, is write or writing a word of noun or verb? Writing can be a verb, and can also be a noun depending on the context it is being used. Write is a noun and can be a verb when being put into use with another prepositions. =========== Wahhhh ... this is a very serious entry indeed ...  We (some colleagues and me) were discussing about writing this afternoon. One friend of mine mentioned that she loves writing because the father was a writer, thus, she wrote enormous amount of academic articles. When I reflected my self, yes, I like to write too ... but jokingly i said i like to write blog, because it frees my mind. This is very true. The truth nothing but the truth. When writing a blog, i wrote out my thoughts and feelings. I freed my min

Salam all and a very good day It's a wonderful day ... wfh, odl, bbnu ... acronyms .... acronyms ... work from home is a norm. We woke up, did a bit of warm-up activities, breakfast, and get into the 'office'. Then, break for lunch, continue working, when the times up, shut down the laptop, off to the kitchen to prepare dinner. And the cycles begin. And life becomes an iteration.  To some people, wfh is a beauty, the blessing in disguise. We can be multitasking and balance work and house chores evenly. The most important thing is to ensure the working time as stipulated by the general law is fulfilled. As you might need to juggle between house chores, you may need to extend the working hours a bit. That's a sacrifice that you must endure. But you have saved on the travelling time. However, to some, wfh is difficult. Especially with young kids around you. It's not easy to sit in front of the computers doing your office work when you have young kids running around, t

MCO 2.0

It's MCO again. I am not surprised with the announcement. Most expected. Working from home? Nothing changes ... I have been at home since March 2020. It is nearly a year. Classes went on as usual. Students were evaluated and assessed. They passed and failed. The turbulence behind the happy faces on the camera is something that no one knows. Or behind the closed cameras of an online classes, they are some struggling to juggle between helping parents and fulfilling their students duty. Pity them so much.  When this morning a colleague of mine send a screen shot of a   conversation between a student a lecturer in our office WhatsApp group, most of us were devastated. The student requested an extension to submit his work due to the flood and the power cut-off, the lecturer just bluntly replied, "Solve your problem professionally". A shot from my class presentation When another student perform a recorded presentation, another lecturer commented that the set-up is not professi

New day, new week .... usual life cycle with new challenges ahead. May Allah ease all our undertakings and blessed us in all our doings. Last week was hectic. Semester is coming to the end. Lecturers and students are all busy. Gearing up towards the finishing line. And last Friday I had presentation scheduled for my Final Year Project students, to present their Research Methodology. And Friday was the last batch to present. While waiting for the presenter to come into our virtual meeting room, I was informed by one of the students that one of their colleague is now facing the natural disaster of flood in his area. I named the boy Zz, and he was in Pekan, Pahang. When its Zz turn to present, I asked the flood situation in his area. And he calmly told me that the water is only 1 inch below the door. Ready to spill in anytime. When asked how is everybody? He calmly answered, that they are packing. I asked if it is ok for him to continue with the presentation (I wouldn't time to carry

Cats

Morning peeps ... Look at this beauty .... so cute looking thing ... peeping through from behind the basket. Looking terrified? or perhaps analyzing the environment. Cats lover will jump to get a hold of this cutie. Source : Google image Why cat? Why talk about cat? Definitely not about this cat. Am I a cat lover? Nope. Neither a cat hater. As long as I remembered, never once that I had put a force on the cats even though I was never a cat lover. I am among those who will freak at feeling the cats are nearby. It just comes naturally. I still cannot be in contact with this cute creature. I was about to do my laundry just before my class begins (a beauty for working at home). As my laundry area is located outside of the house, I need to go out to do laundry (don't worry, it's not primitive as you thought, it is still within our house vicinity). And perhaps there was a cat fight last night that we are not aware of. And you know what they left behind after the fight??? Yes, the sh

2021 -- Welcome

2021  2020 leaving us with too many first encounters.  When the Covid19 first burst into the world in late 2019, it was thought that it's going to be just another flu outbreak. It will come and eventually go away. But .. as all of us aware, it seems that the virus still love to stay within us. Among us. So almost 2/3 of the year 2020 was spent in-house to most people. Many benefitted from the situation, but many more were badly affected by it. Even the world economy was badly hit.  There are families who are happily enjoying the time spent together. But some became restless in the confined space of the house or home. The confined space may not be because of the size of the space, but mostly because of the environment, the vibes.  Some are happily enjoying the steady fixed monthly income, but some are struggling to meet the end needs. Struggling to feed the whole household. Struggling with the day to day living needs. Whichever you are .... There's a lesson for everyone. To tea
