Madu kelulut : Stingless Bee Honey

Assalamualaikum all, This is actually part of the new encountered in Keda Resort, Kampung Bendang Man, Sik, Kedah.  As we drove into and out of the resort we saw many of the below boxes. We were curious. What could that be. They must be breeding something but what is it??? Being the curious lot, I managed to snap a picture of the 'house' on my way out leaving the resort. Alhamdulillah... being older and wiser, mak informed us that it was the breeding of 'kelulut', a type of bee but it is stingless. Apparently, these 'kelulut' are also prodicng honey just like its 'cousin' species the bees. The many boxes that we saw scattered around the resort actually housed the stingless bee that is waiting to be harvested. First time knowing about this, I made some research by just asking dear Uncle Google, and I found this interesting information. Syamille Lebah Kelulut. And just coming back from my sister's house in Dungun, Mak herself tasted the St

Air Terjun Bendang Man

Assalamualaikum, Bersempena 'Visit Mothers Weekend' kami memenuhi permintaan bonda untuk pergi berkelah. It sounds interesting since it has been ages since we last had a picnic at a waterfall. The place chosen is Bendang Man in Sik district of Kedah. To be precise, we went to the Keda Resort in Kampung Bendang Man. 'Bendang' is term used by the northern folks to represent the padi fields. When my eldest brother mentioned 'Bendang', I thought it is going to be a picnic at the padi fields, near the stream, but I was wrong. It was a nice waterfall area at the heart of Kedah. To get there you can either take the PLUS highway to the north but we opted for a country ride --- passing through the many plantations and places and kampungs that we never encountered before. To me, it is the first in my lifetime to reach to this part of Kedah. I have never set foot in Sik before. This is really an interesting journey. Air Terjun Bendang Man at Keda Resort The plac

Di Tanjung Dawai .....

Assalamualaikum.... Just to share what I did last week end. Very seldom it became a quiet weekend. It will always be a full and hectic weekend .... selagi ada kudrat. Last weekend was a trip to pay a visit to our beloved mothers. The last visit was during raya, which means it was a loooonnng time ago. It's time we make a small effort to drive through the North-South highway to see our mothers. Part of the visits, we visited the Kompleks Nelayan in Tanjung Dawai. It was situated besides the sea, it was where I got my seafood dry stocks is. This is where I got my belacan, ikan masin (dried fish - tamban, gelama, talang, tenggiri), anchovies, dried shrimps and also fish crackers. As though these items are not available in Shah Alam ..... but to get it from the source is always more appealing. The fishes are fresh, the price are cheaper and most importantly, the vast varieties of choices that are available. And not forgotten to get myself a homemade coffee powder ... argh

Apakah Yang Kita Katakan Kepada Jenazah Ini? ..... BAIK

Assalamualaikum To start after a long silence ..... "Apakah yang kita katakan kepada jenazah ini" ....BAIK" When attending a funeral, at times you will here this question being asked by the imam just before the coffin is being brought out of the solat hall. There's no specific direction from the Quran and hadith to say this before the deceased is placed at its final resting place, but Rasulallah SAW did reminded us to say ONLY good things about the deceased. Gambar Ihsan Google What happen to MH17 was a tragedy. Everybody was saddened by the tragedy. I know none of those boarding the plane. But I can feel the pain. The pain that family and friends had to bear with. Wife widowed, children orphaned. Death comes in many ways and forms. Everyone of us will come to it. But what happen to MH17 is not something ordinary. I happen to watch the arrival of the 3rd batches of bodies. They were honored like a hero. Throughout the procession, i just could not h
