DAY 3 (DEC 2019) - BOHEY DULANG
We were waiting for the cue from the land operator of our next trip. Whether it is going to be a Bohey Dulang or not. Why wait? Because they need to get the confirmation from the ranger whether it is safe to go there or not.
Bohey Dulang is a hike. Hiking to the top to enjoy the magnificent view of the sea. However, the climb can be slippery though, especially if it rains the night before. We were lucky as the weather was just perfect. And we were able to take the climb. Make sure you have a proper gear with you. The sports shoe for the minimum. But we were only in our water shoes 😅 ... we didn't bring extra shoes. The water shoes works just fine. It grips well to the fit and do not slipped easily. This is one of the important feature for climbing. Except that it did not has proper soles. Anyway, Alhamdulillah we managed.
Approaching the island. Look at the crystal clear water. Astonishing. |
The jetty. |
There is a strict rules on the number of visitor to be on the island at any one time. It requires some kind of permit. All are arranged and sorted out by our ground operator. This is one thing that i like employing an agent to travel. Everything has been taken care off, we only need to sit back, relax and enjoy.
The climb to the top is not an easy game. It requires your physical strength and good health. It is clearly climbing up a rough terrain. As my truly other is having a knee pain, we struggled our way up. Alas ... we reached the top. The top was just a small flat surface. Well fenced with the rope to avoid from falling. It is a worth climb when seeing the open sea beneath it.
The magnificent view |
After Bohey Dulang, we were brought to few other island. If you are lucky, you will be able to see the turtle roaming freely. The fishes are of various colours. The corals, are such a wonderful sightings.
Forgot to mention that we have checked-out from the hotel before the trip as we are going back home today. Coming back to the land, the guide has booked us a small motel to shower and perform the solat before heading to the Tawau airport to return to KUL.
It was indeed a very memorable travel. Everybody was talking about a repeat to this beautiful gem.
