Farewells .... MTAF

Salam all,

Good byes is the hardest thing to do.

18 January 2018, Hakim is bidding farewell to his friends after their 3 long years being together. They spent time together more than they spent time with their family. They are at the hostel most the days in the year ... all are only for one reason, to get the knowledge of Al-Quran. Alhamdulillah.

And today, he is leaving his friend, life requires 'hijrah', moving from one place to another, to find something in preparing to be a better muslim.

His three years in Maahad Tahfiz Al Furqan (MTAF) was well spent. He learnt a lot from the school. In other words, the school taught him a lot. From a timid and shy lad to a more confident teenager. Hakim is not leaving MTAF because it is not good. Hakim is leaving MTAF because we hope for him to learn something more.

In MTAF he was taught to be confident. In his first year he was already exposed to national level competition in musabaqah. Even though he did not win any, but he learnt a very good lesson. To be bold to sit in front, to face the masses. That is one quality that I really thankful MTAF for that.

Not only that, due their (MTAF) small number of students, but enthusiast teachers, they managed to bring the team in many other competitions. The managed to be in a football league to defend against the well known schools in their league. Even though, there is no success story yet, but the team has learnt a very valuable knowledge, that is to work in team, to strive hard to win even though they are small. They learn the fighting spirit. They learn how to be a fighter.

Also, due to their number of students, all of them were exposed to participating in a big performances such as nasyid, playing instruments, to help out in events. Those are qualities that cannot be build with out the commitments from the teachers.

I salute the teachers that shed their sweat to make sure the students gain all the valuable knowledge and experience.

Thank to MTAF, Hakim has become a good young man.

May he able to adapt to the new school and new environment with all the basic skills that he garnered during his stay in MTAF.

Watching the farewells, I was so touched. How loving they are, the ukhuwwah that they have built. I pray for the success of MTAF, teachers and students.

They might bid farewell tonight, but as one of the Professors that I knew said, "Friendship is forever". And this is true, with the current technology, distance no longer matters. There are plenty of ways to communicate. Technology is good when we put it at a correct place.

The last farewell .... but friendship is forever.

Sayonara .........

Wassalam.
