Assalamualaykum....
I am not sure when was the last time I read a novel or story book. It has been ages, i think. Doing the things that you used to do at times fascinates you. It fascinated me upon my accomplishment to be able to complete my reading of this known book written by Prof Dr Hamka.... Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wick.
The book was among the best book written by the late Prof Hamka. My reading is suppose to see his writing style, his choice of word, sentence composition and literature. And I found it amazing. He managed to bring us back to the past. He introduced us with the culture and values of the community with Islam as the guide.
The story was about the love of the two from different economic background and standard. It also tells about how Islam guides the life of human to the righteous, what is the allowable act and what is prohibited in a relation. It tells that life is not always as we wish it to be. It tells that life is not only about love to another being. It tells about hardwork always pays.
Well...after months of struggling. Reading before the bedtime. I managed to complete it. Moving away from the academic articles add colours to reading.
