O! My Back

Assalamualaikum dear readers,

A very barakah day for us all, InsyaAllah.

O! My Back.

Well .... that is probably the sign of our aging body is crying for help. Every part requires more attention and extra care. Furthermore, it is now becoming very fragile and vulnerable to pain. That's the body that Allah has given us to care for. How did we take care of it?

When Allah, gave us life, gave us a body to live in, He wants us to take good care of it. For that, Allah had also design an approach that if we obliged to it obediently, it will be able to help us to protect ourselves from a destructive future. Destructive! A very harsh word isn't it? But, that is where we will lead our body if we do not put extra care to it.

Of the many pain and ache, why backache as the topic to discuss? My answer, as usual every morning I gain some valuable knowledge from the TV programme 'Tanyalah Ustaz' on TV9 from 0700-0800 hours. And this morning, the ustaz was talking about solat and health. From the research conducted, solat is very good for health for many reasons. Unfortunately, sorry for my poor concentration, I only grabbed this piece of information that I would like to share with you now.

For those who are experiencing back pain, ruku', a position in solat, is a good form of

physiotherapy. However, it has to be done in a proper way. It should be a 90 degree position with your head lift up a bit to be parallel with your back. According to the ustaz, whom I forgot to look at the name, a testimonial of a backache sufferer showed an improvement after three weeks of the 5-times-a-day compulsory solat. It means that if we perform more solat, compulsory + additional solat, probably it will speed-up the recovery period.

Now, with this piece of knowledge, let's strive to perform a proper solat, with added frequency (solat sunat le tu...) so that we could prevent and protect our back for a healthier and a more cheerful life.

Wallahua'lam.
